The Punjab government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has launched an inspiring welfare project known as the Himmat Card Program. This initiative aims to improve the lives of persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the province by offering regular financial aid, easy access to services, and inclusive benefits that help them live with dignity and independence.
What Is the Himmat Card Program?
The Himmat Card is part of the Punjab government’s commitment to empower people with disabilities. Through this program, eligible individuals receive quarterly financial assistance and a digital card that also works as an ATM card. The goal is to make welfare aid simple, transparent, and accessible.
Following the successful launch of Phase 1, which supported around 40,000 people, Phase 2 (2025) of the Himmat Card program is expanding to reach 25,000 more beneficiaries. With this, a total of 65,000 citizens with disabilities are now being supported under this scheme.
Main Benefits of the Himmat Card
The program provides a range of practical and social benefits, ensuring that PWDs can meet their essential needs and enjoy improved mobility and inclusion.
-
Quarterly Financial Aid: Every eligible person receives Rs. 10,500 every three months to cover daily expenses.
-
ATM Access: The Himmat Card can be used at ATMs just like a bank card, making it convenient to withdraw funds.
-
Free Public Transport: Beneficiaries can enjoy free travel on metro buses and Orange Line trains in cities like Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
-
Support for Women: A 30% quota is reserved for women with disabilities, ensuring equal access and representation.
-
Transparent Process: Each cardholder’s details are stored in a secure database to prevent duplication and ensure fair distribution.

Why the Himmat Card Matters
The Himmat Card Program reflects CM Maryam Nawaz’s vision of an inclusive Punjab — one where no citizen is left behind due to disability. The financial aid and added benefits like free travel offer real support, while the transparent registration and verification process ensure fairness.
With Phase 2 underway in 2025, the Punjab government continues to build a system that uplifts vulnerable citizens and promotes equality in every district.
If you or someone you know meets the eligibility criteria, now is the perfect time to apply and benefit from this meaningful program.
